THIS BOMBINGS

I think the idea of these so-called terrorist actions in form of indescriminate bombings, not minding who the victims are, so long as they occur in places branded as infedls' lands, as well as, places where statements will made, are becoming a nuisance rather than actual expressions of oppresion, as the case may be.
It does not matter if the perpetrator is a muslim or christian, or, of any other faith for that matter. What should be the focus is that:
ARE THESE ACTIONS ACHIEVING THEIR DESIRED GOALS?
ARE THE INTENDED TARGETS BEING DELAT WITH OR NOT?
On the other hand if the answers to these quetions are things like:
THE BOMBINGS ARE AFFECTING NON-FOES ALIKE.
THE FOES ARE BEING STEELED BY THE BOMBINGS.
NON-FOES GET HIT AS WELL.
SYMPATISERS TO THE CAUSE GET HIT AS WELL.
Then, is there not a reason to have re-think on the manner of these onslaughts? Is it not neccessary to begin to view the necessity of reviewing the whole strategy of these acts? Is there no other way through which the aim can be achieved with minimum casualties? Or, is the objective just to realise mournings in as many households as possible, not minding who is going to grieve?
If we begin to realise the veering of these actions from their targets, then we will begin to realise the reputation being built. Whichever way you view it, at every point in every struggle, if reaslistic appraisals are not done to bring about a harmonisation of the aims of the struggle with the existing structure availlable to eventually arrive at the inevitable negotiation table, then the struggle losses realism. It is at such a junction that the struggle begins to get questioned.
Therefore, to me i think it is about time the powerful forces behind the acts begin re-evaluate the modus operadi of their followers, while the soldiers should begin to understand that a fight that is not understood by bystanders will continually get no positive response and would eventually get extinguished by the necessity for a better distaraction.

could this be real?

i recieved the mail below, could somebody please tell me if it's real. or is this one of the scam letters we are always being warned about?

Standard Bank Mozambique
MoStanPraça 25 de Junho No 1
Maputo S.W.I.F.T. - BSTM MZ MA
Moçambique
www.stanbic.com
Dear Beloved.
This may sound too good to be true as you may think but believe me it
is real and it is happening in some banks especially in Africa.
Most of the African leaders are a disgrace to mankind and God will
punish them for making the people suffer.
Meanwhile, before i proceed further i will like to introduce myself
briefly as this is email communication i will not write much for
confidentiality purposes.
I am heading a team of International Investigator that was mandated
from the IMF to cross-check the banking activities of some of these
African leaders, you can not believe what i found out in most Standard Bank
and Stanbic branches was not too encouraging and i have to let people
know what is going on in Africa, i have visited these locations Botswana,
Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Congo, Malawi, Uganda, Zambia, Lesotho,
Namibia, Mauritius, Swaziland, and presently in the above stated address
for two -three weeks before moving to another branch. Some of these Funds
have been abandoned and some seized by the bank because of illegal
transfer activities.
However, a lot of funds has been discovered and we have mapped out some
part of the funds for a programme that will be used to improve the
life’s of the world population through setting up a foundation Grant
(donations) to invest in charitable organizations in every country totaling
four million pounds (4,000,000.00 Pounds).
Upon the release of these Funds to you, we will send an agent to your
country to monitor the impact made to charitable organizations on a
periodic basis, and based on our agent's report, more funds will be
approved to you on yearly bases.
All Funding assistants are selected through a computer database ballot
system (C.D.B.S) drawn from 346,997,000 names from Australia, USA,
Europe, Asia, New Zealand, Africa, Middle-East and South-North America. As
part of our international Funding program, that we shall conduct once
in a year.
l want to also use this opportunity to inform you that we do give out
soft loans to companies, persons and organizations that needs funds for
Tsunami project and support. The loans we give out are to be repaid
after 12 months at an interest of 2.5% yearly. lf you have need for such
loans, you may as well apply through the Board who will take a look at
the project you have in mind for the Tsunami affected people and advise
if your project merits our funding.
Thanks
Johnson Banton

gretaest birtday gift of all

i have deliberately hesitated to post this for some time now, principally for two reasons: i posted something about my impending birthday and asked other TIGers who share the same birthday with me to get in touch; and i have been savouring the gretatest birthday gift i could ever imagne i could get.
to start with, my birthday was on the 16th of february, and though i do not often remember my birthdays, i was conscoius of this particularl one.
let me get you into some background infornation first. see, i work in a location that's 7 hours from where my wife residesand she gave birth to baby girl on 17 november 2004. ofcourse, we were very joyous. i got to see them 6 days later, stayed three days and went back to work. i saw them again when the baby was about 30days old had a wondeful time with my her. she has a way of lying in the space within my arm and my chest at night. even though she does not sleep at nights, whenever am around she sleeps comfortably in the litle space i have since discovered she likes. hopwever, this was when my wife pointed out something in our baby's eyes. we took her to an eye specialist who confirmed she has cataract in the two eyes and had to be operated on before she gets to be three months old.
now, i am just a civil servant in nigeria and my wife just got out of university, yet to get work and i knew this is gong to be expensive and so we prepared ourselves for some real hards time in order to save and get enough money for the operation. i went back to my place of work and three days later, my wife calls and say that some other doctor advised we take her out of the country to the UK for the operation as the only option. i panicked. where am i gong to get that kind of money. we started prayng hard and i got in touch with my siblings in the UK who readily signified their willingness to assist. now, even if i get the money eventually, my baby was just days away from being three months old, and the visa application process might take quiote a while. i told my wife we should start looking for other options. the hospitals that could possibly handle it were the government hospitals, and unfortunately the doctors there were on industrial action and not workng. we got preliminary tests done though. and then we were told of the national eye hospital which was about another 8 hours away from my wife's location. we had no option as there were no conecting flights. i sent her money and they left. i wanted very much to be with them, but i had to stay at work to ensure that my salary goes on as i cold not obtain necesaary leave from work. at the palce she was told that they could not handle it, due to her age. we were then advised to go to another private hospital which is approximately another 9 hours from where they were. by this time i was almost a nervous wreck. but thankfully, there was a connecting flight, and also by this time my family members had been able to contribute quite a considerable sum of money for me. therefore my wife and kid went to the private clinic by air: an hour. at the clinic, we had to pay an approximate of 250 thousand naira eventually and the operation was to be done on february 15. on that day, the doctor suddenly remembered he had an appointment that he could not postpone, and so told my wife to come th next day for the oeration. on the morning of the 16th, i got a call from my wife telling me that the operation had been done and that it was successful.. now what better birthday present could i possibly ask for again? my mothr called me early that day wishing me a memorable birthday and one of my sisters-in-law called telling me that she knows the only birthday gift i could only be praying for is a successful operation on my baby. was she right?!!!
now don't you agree with me that i had the greatest birthday gift of my life yet?
